About Tyler's Justice Center for Children
Tyler's Justice Center for Children was established in 2002 after the tragic death of a local infant named Tyler. Tyler was only two months old when he died as a result of child abuse.
Tyler's Justice Center for Children is a 501(c)(3) charitable, not-for-profit organization, funded by grants and private donations. As a Children's Advocacy Center (CAC), we provide free services to children up to 18 years of age, who disclose sexual and/or serious physical abuse, as well as their non-offending family members.
The non-profit Children's Advocacy Center (CAC) acts on the principle that no one agency or professional alone can investigate, prosecute and treat the problem of child sexual and/or serious physical abuse - a coordinated, team response is necessary. A CAC provides victims of sexual abuse and/or serious physical abuse coordination of professionals from legal, medical, child protective and social services, in one place at one time, working together in the best interest of the child.
Tyler's Justice Center for Children serves as a central location for intake, investigation and follow-up for all sexual and/or physical child abuse victims ages 0 -18 in our tri-county area of Carroll, Jo Daviess and Stephenson Counties.
We work closely with Law Enforcement, DCFS and the State's Attorney's Offices in each of our three counties to form a Multi-Disciplinary Team.
